Privacy Policy
Cajita is built on a simple principle: we don't want your data, and we don't need it.
What we collect
Nothing. Cajita does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All budget and expense data you enter is stored exclusively on your device in an encrypted local database.
YNAB connection
Cajita connects to your YNAB account using the official YNAB API and OAuth 2.0 authorization. This means:
- We never see or store your YNAB username or password.
- Authorization tokens issued by YNAB are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device only.
- API requests are made directly from your device to YNAB's servers. Our servers are not involved.
Local data storage
All budget categories, expense records, and paycheck history are stored in an encrypted SQLite database (SQLCipher) on your device. This data is never uploaded, backed up to our servers, or shared with any third party.
Financial institution credentials
Cajita does not connect to banks, credit unions, or any financial institutions. It does not access account numbers, routing numbers, or banking credentials of any kind.
Analytics and tracking
None. Cajita contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services that transmit data externally, no advertising frameworks, and no tracking of any kind. We have no visibility into how or how often you use the app.
In-app purchases
The Premium subscription is processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not receive, process, or store any payment information. All subscription management (including cancellation) is handled through your Apple ID settings.
Third-party sharing
We do not share any data with any third parties, because we do not have any data to share.
Children's privacy
Cajita is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date below and note it in the App Store release notes.
